As I was teaching my friend's eighteen-year-old daughter, my age-old 1980s sewing machine broke. At first she asked me if the grinding noise was normal. I really didn't hear grinding noise and assumed that the noise she was talking about was the sound of the thread spinning. On top of that, my sewing machine is so old that it would make some noises.
When I inspected her work and found that needle and thread weren't catching. I opened up the compartment of the bobbin and that's when it completely fell apart on me. I was mortified. How was I supposed to create clothing, bags, and wallets without my sewing machine.
So, with a broken heart, I left my house hoping some company with a friend that will cheer me up.
Mike and I then headed to Zocalo's in downtown Sacramento. After ordering a Pozole Verde (which is yummy), we ordered dessert. Mike and Jen shared the Churro's with Vanilla Ice Cream desert whilst I ordered the chocolate cake. Thoughts of the broken sewing machine and the inability to create were forgotten.
I definitely recommend the chocolate cake at Zocalos
