For the last year and a half, I've been quiet at my job. I try not to stress myself out with the one person I loathe the most. She seemed to be the nicest person and being that she just moved here from Utah and couldn't find a job for over a year, I decided to refer her to my boss. It so happens that there's an opening at the office since a friend of mine was leaving and this woman ended up with the job.
Unfortunately, after a few months of being there, she's caused so many problems at the office, but the owner wouldn't let her go. Two people had quit because of her. She doesn't follow instructions well and she's dumb as a rock. She's sneaky and what would you expect from a family that steals (her family stole from a friend of mine that teaches scuba). She tried to get my fired by claiming that I word some derogatory term directed at Mormons. "Sod-it" isn't a derogatory term. It's an English slang that means "buzz off." I haven't been on good terms with her since.
Four years later, she's still employed with the firm (I'm part time now since I've gone back to school to get a better job). She's still the backstabbing wanker. She'd stab me repeatedly in the back and then act all nice like she cared. I've let my guard down once with her, but I realized that was the wrong thing to do. I've let my guard up again. After this week's events, I wasn't going to go through that hell again. I took a friend's advice, "Just keep your head down and do your job. They aren't your friends even though they think they are. Just keep your head down."
I did just that and starting on Monday, I'll be bringing my knitting andmy books to work to avoid any converstions with them during lunch and break. I'll be stress free!
